Catering for 20 People: Ideas and Tips

               If your objective is to feed approximately 20 people and make some money out of it, here are some ideas and tips.

Tip #1:  Try to keep the menu simple and cost effective while still providing a hearty meal. 

Tip#2:  Depending on where you prepare the meal, if you prepare it at the kitchen where the function is, make sure that it has the equipment you need for serving. 

Tip#3:  Always bring a sharp carving knife!!

Tip#4:  When purchasing the food required buy them at wholesale places like Costco.  These stores provide larger food amounts than regular grocery stores.

Menu Ideas:
Appetizers:
            1 BIG bag of Tortilla chips, shredded chedder, chopped green onions, salsa and sour cream.  Melt the cheese on top of the Tortilla chips, then sprinkle with green onions, salsa and sour cream!

1 LARGE bag of chopped Romaine lettuce.  Use Caesar Salad dressing with croutons, some bacon bits and romano cheese.

            5 pieces of French Stick bread toasted with garlic butter

*****Serve the tortillas, salad and bread early so they can get fill up fast*****

Dinner:

            15 lb. beef roast
            10 lb. of potatoes made into potato salad
            1 large bag (Costco) coleslaw mix  
            1 med bowl of pasta salad
20 plain dinner buns

Dessert:
Stawberry Ice Cream Shortcake.
